DURAN® serpentine cooler, NS 29/32, 300 mm Typical of the serpentine cooler is its coiled riser tube, which is located in a jacket and is thus surrounded by the cooling medium (contrary to the Dimroth cooler). Due to this condensate flow, the condensation capacity is very low although the cooling distance is very long. This type of cooler is therefore usually used as a downstream additional cooler and not as an independent distillation cooler.
