Sartoclean GF MidiCaps are ready-to-use, individually sterile-packed filter elements for a wide range of prefiltration applications in the biopharmaceutical industry. Sartoclean GF MidiCaps combine absolute retention performance of the membrane filters with a highly absorbent capability of the glass fiber nonwoven. Consequently, the filters are ideally suited for the removal of colloids, lipids, defined particle retention and biodurden reduction.Applications: Sartoclean MidiCaps are widely used in the field of pre-filtration of biotechnological manufacturing processes for the purpose of protecting the subsequent downstream process instrumentation. Typical applications include both bioburden reduction and effective removal of colloids and lipids from: - Nutrient solutions - Serum - Plasma - Cell culture media - Solutions containing colloids and lipids. Performance: Due to the combination of highly absorbent nonwoven/glass fabric and a membrane filter, the Sartoclean GF MidiCaps ensures an optimal overall flow rate. Consequently, the MidiCaps allow a more economical filtration system design. In addition, bioburden reduction by membrane filtration prevents the formation of pyrogens during production, resulting in increased process safety, especially for biotech-derived fluids. Flexibility: Sartoclean GF MidiCaps are available with different filtration areas from 0.6 m² | 6 ft² to 1.8 m² | 18 ft². This allows you to easily use them in any filtration process regardless of batch size. Scalability: Consistent and predictable scale-up and scale-down processes can be reliably performed as all Sartoclean GF MaxiCaps are produced with the same membrane type and identical construction materials.
