The main application of Biosart® 100 monitors is the microbiological analysis of liquids containing a small number of microorganisms, as membrane filtration is the appropriate method for this purpose. In addition, Biosart® 100 monitors are also suitable for the analysis of smaller volumes by adding a few ml of sterile saline solution before adding the sample. Biosart® 100 Monitors are specifically designed for the detection and quantification of microorganisms in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, beverages and foods, water and other liquids. The ready-to-use units are pre-sterilized and contain a lid, a funnel and a base, as well as a membrane and a cardboard disc. After filtration, liquid medium is added, the 100 ml attachment is removed and the Petri dish is ready. The suitable Biosart® 100 culture media are portioned and filled in plastic ampoules and are available for various determination targets. Biosart® 100 monitors are ready-to-connect filter units that are simply placed on vacuum filtration bars, thus saving the user the time-consuming cleaning and sterilization of reusable funnel attachments. The variety of types of Biosart®100 monitors ensures reliable growth and clear identification of the germs. Monitors with cellulose nitrate (cellulose ester) membranes, a material that ensures effective retention at high flow rates and optimal colony growth, have an imprinted grid and are available in a variety of colors. The grid simplifies counting, especially with high colony numbers or microcolonies, but it does not affect the growth of the germs in any way. The three colors white, green and gray (black after wetting) provide a contrasting background for counting. Monitors with regenerated cellulose membrane, a material that combines high flow rates with good chemical stability, are ideal for microbiological analysis in the veterinary sector, where many products are solvent-based.Worldwide, the membrane filtration method is the accepted and preferred method for performing microbiological analysis of liquid samples. Biosart® 100 monitors and culture media comply with guidelines and laws describing membrane filtration, such as:- European Drinking Water Regulation (Directive 98/83/EC on the quality of water)- American Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 20th Edition- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 600/8-78-017- International standards (concerning microbiological methods), such as. E.g. ISO 7704, ISO 9308-1, EN 12780, ISO 8199- WHO Guideline for Drinking Water Quality, 1997- International Pharmacopoeias, such as the current editions of USP and EP.Biosart® 100 monitors are also available with the new 0.45 µm high-flow membranes, whose special pore structure ensures shorter filtration times due to the 30% higher flow rate. High flow rate High total flow rate Sterile or individually sterile-packed Membranes comply with ISO 7704 Different colors available without hydrophobic adhesive zones Consistently high recovery rates Ready-to-connect and easy-to-use Minimal equipment required
