FBS plusX is a modified Fetal Calf Serum (Fetal Bovine Serum) that is characterized by a significantly reduced serum content and a resulting minimized batch variation. It allows a wide range of cell lines (including HeLa, NIH-3T3, HEK293, Jurkat, CHO, Vero, L929 etc.) to grow optimally, even partially outperforming standard FBS. FBS plusX contains highly purified and defined recombinant key components for optimal cell growth, making it possible to significantly reduce serum levels.  The combination of these growth-promoting factors (such as insulin, transferrin, trace elements and amino acids) with a lower serum concentration has a positive effect on cell growth and morphology. The lower serum content also reduces cell stress, while batch-to-batch variation is minimized.   FBS plusX is added to the cell culture media at the same concentration as your standard FBS.
