Mode of operation A generously dimensioned DC motor converts the rotary motion into a vertical oscillating motion via a reciprocating gear. Due to the oscillations of the grinding bowl with high amplitude and high frequency, comminution takes place in the grinding bowls by impact between grinding balls and grinding bowl inner wall as well as by friction between grinding balls and grinding bowl inner wall. In contrast to comparable mills, the spherical grinding bowl interior, which is optimally adapted to the comminution principle, achieves a significantly better efficiency.
