Cellulose nitrate is the original material for membrane filters, and still offers the widest range of pore sizes ( 8.0 µm - 0.45 µm). The coarser pore sizes (8 µm, 5 µm, 3 µm) are used for cell separation. The high non-specific adsorption of the Cellulose Nitrate membrane is very advantageous for diagnostic rapid tests. The adsorption of the finer pore sizes is higher than that of the coarser ones, as shown in the diagram.Microsart e.motion membrane filter.
