Highest hydrolytic strength, borosilicate glass of the 1st hydrolytic class, therefore absolutely safe for documentation.
Alkali release approx. 15 to 24 µg Na2O/gglass, thus a glass of highest resistance.
Excellent usability for fluorescence microscopy. Irradiated ultraviolet rays of longer wavelengths than about 320 nm produce practically no fluorescence in the coverslips; likewise, mercury lines at 334 and 365 nm give practically no intrinsic fluorescence in the coverslip.

When using mercury light in fluorescence microscopy, it should be noted that the mercury lines with shorter wavelengths than 313 nm are filtered out of the excitation light so that no additional veiling luminance interferes with the observations.
