DURAN® flat flanged lids, with side necks: 3 x NS 29/32 oblique and, 1 x NS 14/23 vertical, DN 100 Flat flange vessels are large-volume reaction vessels which are regarded as an alternative to round-bottom flasks and consist of a base and a lid. These two parts are held together by means of a clamping ring. A seal or ground-glass grease prevents the ground-glass surfaces from jamming. Various standard ground joints in the lid allow the flat flange vessel to be combined with other components (e.g. dropping funnels, stirrer shafts, etc.). Plan flange vessels are well suited for preprative work such as general reactions, distillations, evaporations and dryings involving solid and viscous substances. Because of their walls, flat flange vessels are suitable for safe work under pressure and vacuum.
