Sartorius Sartopore® 2 XLM Candle

Sartopore 2 XLM with a nominal pore size of 0.1 µm are specifically designed for sterile filtration and safe mycoplasma retention of advanced cell culture media. The unique, highly asymmetric, heterogeneous double-layer PES membrane provides exceptionally high total membrane life, significantly reducing filtration costs and space requirements of the filtration system. Applications Typical applications for Sartopore® 2 XLM filter cartridges include sterile filtration and mycoplasma retention of: plant peptone, soy or yeast containing cell culture media serum containing cell culture media cell culture media components all other cell culture media found in biotechnical production Economy The built-in pre-filter membrane is specifically designed to protect the 0.1 µm membrane in cell culture media filtration. The optimized membrane combination together with the exceptionally high filtration area of 0.8m²/10'' filter element, allow > 50% better performance compared to existing 0.1 µm filter elements, ensuring low filtration costs per liter, minimized filtration times and smallest footprint of the filtration system. Safety: Sartopore® 2 XLM cartridges are validated for sterile filtration, according to ASTM F 838-05 standards, and for safe mycoplasma retention with an LRV of 7/cm² filter area. They provide optimal protection against unwanted contamination in the filtration of cell culture media. Compatibility The PES membrane of Sartopore® 2 XLM cartridges offers broad chemical resistance from pH 1 to pH 14, low extractable level and low non-specific binding for growth factors. They are compatible with multiple in-line steam sterilizing cycles up to 134°C. Scale Up: Sartopore® 2 XLM candles are available in a variety of sizes and formats to ensure linear scale-up from R&D to processes. Quality Control Each individual element has been tested for integrity by diffusion testing to ensure absolute safety.
