The SERVA Musketeer gel documentation system can be used for a wide range of gel documentation tasks: chemiluminescence, fluorescence and visible light in reflected and transmitted light, UV. The handling is intuitive. The core is a coolable CCD camera (-55 °C +/- 5 °C ambient temperature, 16 bit, 6X6 binning) with autofocus lens (f=0.95) and automatic filter change.

The system operates independently and does not require a separate PC. A touchscreen serves as the central control element, with which all applications can be controlled. In this way, images of gels, western blots, etc. can be created and saved quickly and easily. The data can then be easily read out via a USB port if required.

The SERVA Musketeer is equipped with a UV, a white light as well as a red/green/blue (R/G/B) LED transilluminator and R/G/B and white light incident light including the appropriate filters. This allows a wide range of applications to be covered: Documentation of nucleic acid gels with EtBr or SERVA DNA Clear G (or related fluorescent dyes), proteins stained with ^Coomassie® in the VIS range or labeled with fluorescent dyes such as the prestain SERVA PRiME Lightning Red, chemiluminescence imaging of Western blots (SERVA Vega ECL, SERVA SciDyes and similar CL substrates).
