SERVA PRiME Lightning Red 1 Set

SERVA Lightning Red is a fluorescent dye for rapid labeling of proteins prior to SDS PAGE and/or Western blotting, eliminating the need for any staining and washing step after electrophoresis. In Western blotting, the labeled protein samples can be easily used for sample normalization using the total protein signal as a loading control. The dye is fully compatible with mass spectrometry and other subsequent methods.
Labeling is easily and quickly performed: 2 - 5 minutes for qualitative analysis and 30 minutes for quantitative analysis.
A wide range of gel formats can be used to separate the labeled proteins, including ready-to-use gels such as SERVAGel PRiME vertical mini-gels and foil-supported gels .
Labeling works with complex and purified samples with protein concentrations ranging from 1 µg/ml to 20 mg/ml - no protein concentration determination or purification or concentration steps are required before or after the labeling reaction.
After the run, the labeled proteins are detected using a fluorescence imaging device (camera or scanner) at an excitation wavelength of approximately 530 nm and with an emission filter of 610 nm with a narrow bandwidth of 30 nm.
Depending on the protocol used, sufficient for 250 - 1250 lanes - regardless of which gel size (mini, wide or large) is used.
