Implementing sustainability in the laboratory - practice-orientated and tailored to your needs

Laboratories consume an enormous amount of resources! -On average, -80°C freezers consume as much energy as a detached house, each scientist produces an average of 116 kg of plastic waste per year and 3-5 litres of drinking water are needed for one litre of treated laboratory water. This not only costs a lot of resources, but also money!

So it's high time to make a change! But where should you start? After all, the methods are available, samples have to be stored at low temperatures and many consumables are - as things stand today - indispensable in the laboratory.
This is where our consultancy comes in: we provide you with the necessary sustainability expertise, support you in identifying opportunities for change in your laboratory and help you to make your research and laboratory processes more sustainable in the long term - this not only saves resources, but also reduces your operating costs!

Service overview

Would you like to familiarise yourself with all sustainability topics in the laboratory?
Would you like to learn from best-practice examples and develop ideas that you can start with the next day?

Then our one-day workshop ‘Fit for the sustainable lab’ is just right for you. The workshop is offered online and in-house.
Would you like to scrutinise your laboratory and identify potential for improvement on site? Would you like to initiate a process in which you are supported in implementing the measures?

Then our two-day Ecomapping® workshop is right for you! In the Ecomapping® workshop, you take a close look at environmental and safety aspects (such as energy, water and waste water, chemicals and consumables, etc.), record what you notice on site and then develop your own action plan on this basis.
