Fritsch® device for grinding in liquid nitrogen

Device for grinding in liquid nitrogen. For grinding soft, slightly fatty or moist materials, the grinding set is inserted into a cryo-box. The addition of liquid nitrogen embrittles the material to be ground. In this way, samples that are extremely difficult to grind (e.g. soft PVC film pieces) are brought to analytical fineness. The strong insulation of the cryo-box ensures economical coolant consumption. Mortars and grinding balls made of stainless steel, hardened steel or hard metal tungsten carbide should be used for cryogenic grinding.
