The XXprep Kit for Plasmid DNA enables the rapid and simple isolation of plasmid DNA from bacterial cultures.
The procedure is based on the combination of alkaline lysis and binding of plasmid DNA to a filter membrane after precipitation of chromosomal DNA
and bacterial proteins. The bound plasmid DNA is then washed and finally eluted using a low molecular weight buffer.
The isolated plasmid DNA can be used for a number of sensitive downstream applications such as transfection, cloning, PCR or sequencing.
The new method also allows processing of 0.5 ml to 15 ml bacterial cultures using a benchtop centrifuge (after lysis).
Thanks to the new filter membrane, up to 80 µg of pDNA can be isolated from one sample.
